Alan Moore (born 1953) and Dave Gibbons (born 1949), both English comics creators, are renowned for their groundbreaking collaboration on Watchmen (1986-1987), the first comic to win a Hugo Award and widely regarded as the greatest graphic novel ever; Moore's other notable works include V for Vendetta, Swamp Thing, Batman: The Killing Joke, and From Hell, while Gibbons contributed extensively to 2000 AD, Doctor Who comics, and Superman stories like "For the Man Who Has Everything." They earned multiple Eisner, Harvey, and Jack Kirby Awards, with Moore inducted into the Will Eisner Hall of Fame (2014) and Gibbons into the Harvey Hall of Fame (2018) and named UK's first Comics Laureate (2014).
