David Chester Gibbons (born April 14, 1949) is an English comics artist, writer, and letterer best known for his collaboration with Alan Moore on the acclaimed 12-issue miniseries Watchmen, as well as the Superman story "For the Man Who Has Everything" and extensive contributions to 2000 AD including Harlem Heroes, Dan Dare, and Rogue Trooper. Watchmen earned him the 1987 Jack Kirby Awards for Best New Series and Best Writer/Artist, along with a 1986 Inkpot Award, 2018 Harvey Award Hall of Fame induction, and the title of UK's first Comics Laureate in 2014.
