About the Authors
Mariko Tamaki is a Canadian author and comics writer known for her literary graphic novels co-created with her cousin Jillian Tamaki. Together they won the Eisner Award for Best Graphic Album – New in 2015 for This One Summer and again in 2024 for Roaming. She has also written extensively for DC and Marvel.
Jillian Tamaki is a Canadian cartoonist and illustrator known for her collaborations with her cousin Mariko Tamaki. She won the Eisner Award for Best Graphic Album – New in 2015 for This One Summer and in 2024 for Roaming (Drawn & Quarterly), both of which also won the Caldecott Honor. She teaches illustration in New York.
