Lynda Barry (born January 2, 1956) is an American cartoonist best known for her weekly comic strip Ernie Pook's Comeek and illustrated novels such as The Good Times are Killing Me (1988) and Cruddy (1999). Her works like What It Is (2008) earned her the 2009 Eisner Award for Best Reality-Based Work, induction into the Eisner Hall of Fame (2016), and a MacArthur Fellowship (2019), among other honors.
