Jerry Pinkney

Jerry Pinkney (1939–2021) was an American illustrator of children's books known for his vibrant watercolour paintings. He won the Caldecott Medal in 2010 for *The Lion & the Mouse*, a wordless retelling of Aesop's fable. He was also a five-time Caldecott Honor winner. Over his career he illustrated more than 100 books.
