About Fiona French

Fiona French (born June 27, 1944, in Bath, England) is a British author and illustrator of children's picture books renowned for her distinctive artistic style and retellings of classic tales. She won the prestigious Kate Greenaway Medal in 1986 for Snow White in New York, her innovative Jazz Age version of the fairy tale, and her other notable works include Anancy and Mr Dry-Bone (Sheffield Book Award, 1992), Cinderella, Hunt the Thimble, and Rise, Shine!.
