Years of Grace

Margaret Ayer Barnes (1886-1967) was an American author who began her writing career after a severe accident in her forties, producing plays, short stories, and novels that explored the lives of upper-class women in changing times. Her most notable work, the 1930 novel Years of Grace, won the 1931 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and became a bestseller, while other significant works include the plays Dishonored Lady and Jenny (co-written with Edward Sheldon) and novels like Westward Passage and Edna, His Wife.
