Sofi Thanhauser is a writer, artist, and musician based in Brooklyn, New York. She grew up on Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, where she developed an early interest in vintage clothing, later studying history at Columbia University and earning a master's in creative writing and natural resources from the University of Wyoming. She is the author of the acclaimed Worn: A People's History of Clothing (Pantheon, 2022), a New Yorker Best Book of 2022, and teaches writing at Pratt Institute.
