Wonderstruck (Middle School)

Brian Selznick is an American author and illustrator born in East Brunswick, New Jersey in 1966. He won the 2008 Caldecott Medal for *The Invention of Hugo Cabret*, a groundbreaking hybrid novel that combines extensive detailed pencil illustrations with prose narrative. The book was adapted into Martin Scorsese's film *Hugo* in 2011.
