Leopoldine Core was born and raised in New York City's East Village. She graduated from Hunter College and has published the poetry collection Veronica Bench (2015) and the short story collection When Watched (2016), which won a Whiting Award in Fiction and was a finalist for the PEN/Hemingway Award.
