Gregory John Rogers (1957–2013) was an Australian illustrator and writer of children's picture books, best known for his wordless series including The Boy, the Bear, the Baron, the Bard (2004), Midsummer Knight (2006), and The Hero of Little Street (2009), as well as his illustrations for Way Home by Libby Hathorn. He made history as the first Australian to win the prestigious Kate Greenaway Medal in 1995 for his illustrations in Way Home, which also earned a Parents' Choice Award in the U.S. Rogers, born in Brisbane, worked as a graphic designer before becoming a freelance illustrator in 1987 and passed away from stomach cancer at age 55.
