William Rivière is a British novelist born in 1954 and raised in Norfolk. He attended Cambridge University before living in Venice and Japan, and now teaches at the University of Urbino in Italy. His notable works include Echoes of War, Kate Caterina, By the Grand Canal, Borneo Fire, Eros and Psyche, and A Venetian Theory of Heaven, often featuring lyrical descriptions of landscapes and explorations of love, war, and human emotion set in places like England, Italy, Greece, and Borneo.
