Franz WrightAmerican
Franz Wright (1953–2015) was an American poet born in Vienna, Austria, to poet James Wright, the only parent-child pair to win the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry—his for Walking to Martha's Vineyard in 2004. He struggled with addiction, mental illness, and later terminal lung cancer, which informed his lyrical works exploring isolation, spirituality, and recovery. His notable collections include God's Silence, Kindertotenwald, and F, the latter highly acclaimed.
