Tomomi Fujiwara is a Japanese novelist and essayist born in Fukuoka City, Japan. He debuted in 1990 with "Shot the King" (王を撃て) while working as a freelance writer and won the prestigious 107th Akutagawa Prize in 1992 for his novel "Conductor" (運転士, Untenshi), published in Gunzō magazine. A graduate of Meiji University, he has authored numerous novels and essays on topics like family, housing, and modern life, and since 2021 contributes to Yomiuri Shimbun's life advice column.
