About This Book

Told through four fictional texts—a novel, an unfinished autobiography, a memoir, and a diary—Trust pieces together the story of Andrew Bevel, a secretive New York billionaire, and his wife Mildred, from the Gilded Age through the 1929 crash. Each version of the story contradicts and rewrites the others, raising questions about power, wealth, and who gets to tell history.
