Ping Lu is the pen name of Taiwanese writer Lu Ping, born in Kaohsiung in 1953. She writes novels, essays, poetry, and social commentary on culture, gender, politics, and human rights, and has received Taiwan's National Award for Arts. To the East of the East, translated from the Chinese by Jeremy Tiang, was longlisted for the 2026 National Book Award for Translated Literature.
