About the Author

Tsitsi Dangarembga is a Zimbabwean novelist, playwright, and filmmaker born in Mutoko, Zimbabwe, in 1959. She studied psychology at the University of Zimbabwe and film direction at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin. Her debut novel Nervous Conditions (1988), the first novel in English to be published by a Black Zimbabwean woman, won the Commonwealth Writers' Prize. Read more →
