The Woman at the Washington Zoo

Randall Jarrell (1914-1965) was an American poet, literary critic, children's author, essayist, and novelist best known for his poetry on World War II experiences, childhood, and aging, including the famous poem “The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner” and collections like The Woman at the Washington Zoo (National Book Award, 1961) and The Lost World.
