Laura Cumming (born 1961) is a British art critic and author, born in Scotland and educated at Oxford, best known for her books on art history and memoir including The Vanishing Man (2016), winner of the James Tait Black Memorial Prize and a New York Times bestseller, On Chapel Sands (2019), shortlisted for the Baillie Gifford and Costa prizes, and Thunderclap (2023), shortlisted for the Women's Prize for Non-Fiction.
