Lawrence Henry Gipson (1880–1971) was an American historian renowned for his fifteen-volume magnum opus The British Empire Before the American Revolution (1936–1970), which earned him the 1950 Bancroft Prize and the 1962 Pulitzer Prize for History, among other accolades including the 1948 Loubat Prize.
