About the Author
David Wiesner is an American author and illustrator of children's picture books born in Bridgewater, New Jersey in 1956. He has won the Caldecott Medal three times—for *Tuesday* (1992), *The Three Pigs* (2002), and *Flotsam* (2007). He is the only illustrator to have won the medal three times with wordless or nearly wordless books.
