Hikaru Okuizumi (born February 6, 1956) is a Japanese novelist renowned for his work The Stones Cry Out (Ishi no Raireki), which won the prestigious Akutagawa Prize in 1994, and Novalis no Inyō, recipient of the 1993 Noma Literary Prize for New Writers; he later received the Tanizaki Prize in 2014 for Tōkyō jijoden among other honors.
