Paul Starr (born May 12, 1949) is an American sociologist, professor at Princeton University, and author best known for his Pulitzer Prize-winning book The Social Transformation of American Medicine (1983), which also earned the Bancroft Prize and C. Wright Mills Award, along with other notable works like The Creation of the Media (2004, Goldsmith Book Prize) and Remedy and Reaction (2011).
