Joshua Bennett is an American poet, author, professor, and spoken word artist born in the late 1980s or early 1990s and raised in Yonkers, New York. He is the author of several acclaimed poetry collections including The Sobbing School (2016), which won the National Poetry Series, and nonfiction works like Spoken Word: A Cultural History (2023), a New York Times Notable Book; he serves as Professor of Literature and Distinguished Chair of the Humanities at MIT.
