Nicholas Meyer (born December 24, 1945) is an American author, screenwriter, and director best known for his Sherlock Holmes pastiche novels, particularly the bestseller The Seven-Per-Cent Solution (1974), which sold over two million copies, topped bestseller lists, and won the British Crime Writers' Association Gold Dagger award; its film adaptation earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
