Minette Walters (born 26 September 1949) is an English crime and thriller writer best known for novels like The Ice House, The Sculptress, The Scold's Bridle, The Dark Room, and Fox Evil, several of which were adapted for television. She achieved a unique feat as the first crime/thriller author to win three major awards with her first three books: the CWA John Creasey Award for The Ice House, the Edgar Award for The Sculptress, and the CWA Gold Dagger for The Scold's Bridle. Walters, who lives in Dorset where she was appointed Deputy Lieutenant in 2019, has also authored historical novels such as The Last Hours series. Read more →
