The Saint Plays

Erik Ehn is an American playwright, director, and educator known for his experimental works exploring themes of saints, genocide, and faith; he served as dean of theater at CalArts and head of playwriting at Brown University. He proposed the Regional Alternative Theatre (RAT) movement and founded initiatives like the Tenderloin Opera Company and "Arts in the One World" conference on theater and reconciliation. His notable works include The Saint Plays, Maria Kizito, and the Soulographie cycle; he received the Whiting Award in 1997 and Alpert Award in 2002.
