Catherine Asaro (born November 6, 1955) is an American science fiction and fantasy author best known for her Saga of the Skolian Empire series, including notable works like Primary Inversion and The Quantum Rose. She has won two Nebula Awards—for Best Novel (The Quantum Rose, 2001) and Best Novella (The Spacetime Pool, 2008)—and served two terms as president of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (2003–2005), where she established the Andre Norton Award.
