Katherine Applegate is an American children's author born in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1956. She won the 2013 Newbery Medal for *The One and Only Ivan*, based on the true story of a captive gorilla. She is also known for the *Animorphs* series and her later novel *Wishtree*. Read more →
