Kingsley AmisEnglish
Kingsley Amis (1922–1995) was an English novelist, poet, critic, and teacher, best known for his satirical comedies including Lucky Jim (1954) and The Old Devils (1986), the latter winning the Booker Prize. He was knighted in 1990 and ranked among the greatest British writers since 1945 by The Times. Amis, part of the Angry Young Men movement, authored over 20 novels and was father to novelist Martin Amis. Read more →
