Marion Zimmer Bradley (1930-1999) was an American author renowned for her fantasy and science fiction works, most notably the Darkover series beginning with The Planet Savers (1958) and the bestselling Arthurian novel The Mists of Avalon (1982), which reimagined legends from female perspectives.
