Kim Edwards (born May 4, 1958) is an American author known for her debut novel The Memory Keeper's Daughter (2005), a massive bestseller that spent 122 weeks on the New York Times list and was adapted into an Emmy-nominated film, as well as her short story collection The Secrets of a Fire King (1997) and novel The Lake of Dreams (2011). She graduated from Colgate University and earned MFAs from the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop, and has taught writing at the University of Kentucky. Her awards include the Whiting Writers' Award, Pushcart Prize, National Magazine Award, and British Book Award.
