The Laughing Place

Rosa Pam Durban (born March 4, 1947, in Aiken, South Carolina) is an American novelist and short story writer known for her Southern fiction exploring family dynamics, race relations, and personal growth. She has taught creative writing at institutions including Georgia State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and received awards such as the Townsend Prize for The Laughing Place and the Lillian Smith Book Award for So Far Back.
