The King and the Sea

Heinz Janisch is an Austrian writer and radio journalist, best known for his children's books. Born in 1960 in Güssing, Burgenland, he studied German philology at the University of Vienna and has worked for Österreichischer Rundfunk since 1982. His lyrical works, including picture books and poetry, have earned numerous awards, including the 2024 Hans Christian Andersen Award for Writing.
