Roger FanningAmerican
Roger Fanning (born 1962 in Millington, Tennessee) is an American poet noted for his ironic sincerity and exaltation of the mundane. His debut collection, The Island Itself, was selected by Michael Ryan for the 1992 National Poetry Series and he received a Whiting Award that year; subsequent books include Homesick (2002) and The Middle Ages (2012). He has taught at Syracuse University and in the MFA Program at Warren Wilson College, and lives in Seattle.
