Helen Demidenko is the pseudonym of Australian author Helen Dale (born Helen Darville), best known for her controversial 1994 novel The Hand That Signed the Paper, which depicts a Ukrainian family's collaboration with Nazis during the Holocaust and sparked a major literary scandal when her fabricated Ukrainian heritage was revealed.
