The Great English Nude

Simon Mason is a British author born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, on February 5, 1962. He studied English at Oxford University and pursued a career in publishing, serving as Managing Director of David Fickling Books from 2012 to 2018, while writing fiction in evenings and weekends; notable works include the award-winning debut novel The Great English Nude (1990), children's series like The Quigleys and Moon Pie, YA crime novels featuring Garvie Smith, and recent adult crime series DI Wilkins Mysteries such as A Killing in November (2022). He has received awards including the Betty Trask Prize, Crimefest YA prize, and shortlistings for Costa and CWA Gold Dagger, and fellowships at Oxford institutions.
