Susan Price (born 8 July 1955) is an English author of children's and young adult novels, born in Dudley, Worcestershire (now West Midlands), England. She left school without qualifications and wrote over 60 books while working odd jobs, with her writing often grounded in the history and geology of her region. Notable works include The Ghost Drum, winner of the 1987 Carnegie Medal, and The Sterkarm Handshake, winner of the 1998 Guardian Children's Fiction Prize.
