Alfred BesterAmerican
Alfred Bester (1913-1987) was an American science fiction author best known for his novels The Demolished Man, winner of the inaugural Hugo Award in 1953, and The Stars My Destination. He also wrote for comics, radio, and television, and received the SFWA Grand Master Award posthumously in 1988 and induction into the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame in 2001.
