Mark Haddon (born September 26, 1962) is an English author best known for his novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (2003), which won the Whitbread Book of the Year Award, Commonwealth Writers' Prize, and Guardian Children's Fiction Prize, among others, and was adapted into a Tony Award-winning play. He has written numerous children's books such as Agent Z series and adult novels including A Spot of Bother (2006) and The Porpoise (2019). Alive, he resides in Oxford, England, and recently published Dogs and Monsters (2024) after recovering from health issues including long COVID.
