Gail Kathryn Anderson-Dargatz (born November 14, 1963) is a Canadian novelist and short story writer known for her rural British Columbia settings blending literary fiction and magical realism. Her notable works include The Cure for Death by Lightning (1996), a bestseller that won the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize and UK's Betty Trask Award while being shortlisted for the Giller Prize, and A Recipe for Bees (1998), also a Giller finalist. She has transitioned to domestic thrillers like The Almost Widow (2023), shortlisted for the Crime Writers of Canada Howard Engel Award, and taught creative writing at UBC.
