Eleanor Frances Butler Cameron (1912-1996) was a Canadian-born American children's author and literary critic who published 20 books, best known for her Mushroom Planet science fiction series starting with The Wonderful Flight to the Mushroom Planet (1954) and the National Book Award-winning The Court of the Stone Children (1973). She also wrote the Julia Redfern realistic fiction series, critical essays like The Green and the Burning Tree (1969), and received awards including the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award for A Room Made of Windows (1972) and the Kerlan Award (1985).
