The Big Smoke

Adrian Matejka (born 1971) is an American poet born in Nuremberg, Germany to a U.S. military family and raised primarily in Indianapolis, Indiana. His most notable work, The Big Smoke (2013), won the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award and was a finalist for the National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize in Poetry; other key collections include Mixology (National Poetry Series winner), Map to the Stars, and Somebody Else Sold the World.
