Amanda Peters is a Canadian author of mixed Mi'kmaq and European ancestry, born around 1977 and raised in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley as a member of the Glooscap First Nation. Crimson. Her debut novel The Berry Pickers (2023), which explores the disappearance of a Mi'kmaq girl and its lasting impacts, won the 2024 Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction, the 2023 Barnes & Noble Discover Prize, the 2024 Crime Writers of Canada Award of Excellence, and the 2024 Dartmouth Book Award, among other honors.
