The Bamboo Stalk

Saud Alsanousi (born 1981) is a Kuwaiti novelist, playwright, and journalist whose works explore Kuwaiti society, culture, and identity. His debut novel The Prisoner of Mirrors (2010) won the Laila al-Othman Prize, and he achieved international acclaim with The Bamboo Stalk (2012), earning the International Prize for Arabic Fiction (\"Arabic Booker\") in 2013 as the youngest recipient.
