Lawrence Naumoff (born July 23, 1946, in Charlotte, North Carolina) is an American fiction writer and creative writing professor at the University of North Carolina. He has published several novels including The Night of the Weeping Women (1988), Rootie Kazootie (1990), Silk Hope, NC (1994), A Plan for Women (1997), and A Southern Tragedy, in Crimson and Yellow (2005), which won the Walter Raleigh Award. His novel Taller Women, a Cautionary Tale (1992) was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year, and he has received awards such as the Whiting Award and National Endowment for the Arts Discovery Award.
