Bahaa TaherEgyptian
Bahaa Taher (1935-2022) was an Egyptian novelist and short story writer, born in Giza, who graduated from the University of Cairo and worked as a UN translator in Geneva after facing censorship in Egypt during the 1970s. Books. His most notable works include Sunset Oasis (2007), which won the inaugural International Prize for Arabic Fiction (2008), Aunt Safiyya and the Monastery (1991; Giuseppe Acerbi Prize, 2000), and Love in Exile (1995); he also received Egypt's State Award of Merit in Literature (1998).com.
