About the Author

Michael Frayn (born September 8, 1933) is an English playwright and novelist best known for the farce Noises Off, the drama Copenhagen (which won the Tony Award for Best Play), and Democracy, as well as novels like Spies (Whitbread Prize winner) and Headlong (Booker-shortlisted). He has received numerous accolades including multiple Laurence Olivier Awards, Evening Standard Awards, and the Golden PEN Award for lifetime service to literature. Frayn began as a journalist for The Guardian and The Observer and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
