Richard Wiley (born November 19, 1944) is an American novelist and short story writer whose debut novel Soldiers in Hiding (1986) won the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction. Website. He served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Korea and lived in Japan, Nigeria, and Kenya, experiences that inform his work, and taught English at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for 26 years, cofounding its graduate creative writing program.
