Lawrance ThompsonAmerican
Lawrance Roger Thompson (1906-1973) was an American biographer and Princeton University professor of English renowned for his three-volume biography of poet Robert Frost: Robert Frost: The Early Years, 1874-1915 (1966, National Book Award nominee), Robert Frost: The Years of Triumph, 1915-1938 (1970, Pulitzer Prize winner), and Robert Frost: The Later Years, 1938-1963 (1976, completed posthumously). He also authored works on American poets including Edwin Arlington Robinson, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Herman Melville, and William Faulkner.
